GL2S and Tournament Trail Join Forces |

GL2S (Great Lakes Salmon Series) and the Tournament Trail have agreed to combine their efforts to further promote salmon and trout tournament fishing on the Great Lakes. The agreement insures continuity with the existing Tournament Trail and 333 formats currently operating at tournaments on Lake Michigan and provides a foundation for the introduction of the GL2S.
“Tournament Trail began in 2003 with 9 tournaments; the original goal was to gain national recognition for our series of big lake events. Our goal has never changed; when GL2S stepped up it was a perfect fit. Tournament Trail has created the strong foundation needed for GL2S to take Great Lakes’ tournament fishing to the next level.” said Tournament Trail founder, Fred MacDonald.
“Combining efforts with the Tournament Trail gives GL2S a base to build upon” says Gregory Houtteman, GL2S Founder, “and eliminates any potential confusion as we move forward with the launch of GL2S.”
“As competitors we have enjoyed participating in the 333 format; we felt that a partnership was the best way to avoid any conflicts that could have negatively affected both efforts” Houtteman added.
“We believe that working together will help us get national exposure for the best freshwater fishery in the world. The beneficiaries are the sponsors, the tournament committees, the communities, and the teams. It’s a win-win for everyone involved. It’s about time!” added MacDonald.
GL2S will launch The Huntington GL2S Championship Point Series (GL2S.CPS) for the 2008 season in advance of the full launch of GL2S 2009. The GL2S.CPS is a Pro-only format that will combine nicely with the 333 Best Overall further enhancing opportunities to compete in a season long event. View Press Release - Click Here |
