What does everyone think about the the current 10 points a fish?

And what are your feeling on giving another bonus 5 points for boxing a trout (up to 15 bonus)?

I kind of 50/50 on the 10 pts a fish. I think it is a bit high right now, especailly with the smaller size fish compaired to 5 or 10 years ago.

Hourtime weighed a total of 182.69 lbs. Their total points was 482.69pts. Their weight only made up ~38% of their catch.
WinnNAngel weighed a total of 119.88 lbs. Their total points was 419.88pts. Their weight only mape up ~29% of their total points.

I would think you would want the the fish weight to be in the 60-70% range. But it seems to be the opposite right now with the 10 points a fish and bonus trout making up the majority of the points.

10 points a fish seems to be the standand for so long. So I think that is why I am still 50/50 on changing it. Looking at the Michigan City tournament, it looks like weight made up of around 40% of the total points. And as the season goes, the weights should get heavier, and you will see some caughts of where over 50% of the total points will be made up by the fishes weight.

I have thought that it could be dropped down to 5pts per fish, and maybe a bonus 10 for a limit. With a 12 fish box, that would be 70pts, and would be right in line with most of the 50-70 pound boxes that came to the scale.

I understand that alot of people on the trail feel that diversity should be a part of the point system and I guess this is was it driving the bonus 5 points for boxing a trout (up to 15 bonus). Since Lakers have really dominated the early tournaments, and they seemed to be pretty easy to catch, I dont see whey to give lakers a bonus. If diversity in a catch has to be awarded, I would rather see it in the form of on a per species basis. Your team lands a Great Lakes Slam (5 species), you get 15 bonus points. Your land 4 different species; you get 10 points. 3 different species would get 5 pts.
