I have heard rumors that the 8 tour stops next year are south ports only.If this is not true what ports might be considered for the 2009 season?

Thanks for your question Chuck. We are still discussing the tour stops for 2009. We do have a number of firm commitments for 2009, but others are under discussion. Once we have finalized the list, we will publish it; but we aren't prepared to do that yet.

What ports is the GL2S going to be at in 2008?

Announced last night at the Tournament Trail Banquet the following tournaments will be participating in the 2008 GL2S Huntington Bank Championship Point Series.

May 3-4 at Michigan City
May 9-11 at St. Joesph
May 16-18 at South Haven
July 12-13 at Muskegon
July 24-27 at Manistee (Salmon Splash)
August 1-3 at Holland
August 9-10 at Saugatuck

We are still having discussions with a couple other ports.

Hi Tom, Real disappointed I wasn't able to attend last night, underdstand it was a good time had by all.Looking over the GL2S participation for next year only see as of right now only 1 North division tourny? Did you have any new info for next season (Major sponsors for the tour,Television,or dates).Look forward to any new info. Thanks,Chuck

In 2009, the GL2S will be at ALL events though, right? I will only be fishing a few events and they will all be in the north. I live in the U.P. and it's very expensive for me to just get there and back. I have always fished Sturgeon Bay and plan on attending a few more in the upper part of the L.P. If you add any more stops in Wisconsin I will definitely be at thoses. It's shorter for me to get to Wisconsin then it is downstate. This GL2S sounds and looks like it gonna be great. I look forward to watching it grow and develop. Good Luck with everything. Our sport really need this.

We will be posting the GL2S Powerpoint presentation from the TT banquet shortly. Hopefully that will answer some of your questions.

Basically, at this point, it looks like there will be 8 (possibly 9) events participating in the Huntington GL2S Championship Points Series for 2008. The northernmost event will be the Manistee Salmon Splash in July. We are still solidifying the schedule for 2009, but we anticipate that there will be 8-10 events that are GL2S tournaments. The 333 will be present at a number of additional events beyond those 8-10. For 2009, most of the GL2S events will be in the south end of the lake for logistical reasons.

I wish I could be more specific, but there are many political, organizational and financial considerations involved and every tournament organization and port is different. We are working with each of them as quickly as we can to discuss the issues and reach decisions.
